Parish Council Office on Wednesday mornings, between 9-10am
For 35+ years I’ve lived in and appreciated Black Notley. After working in most business areas I’m happily retired and able to enjoy interests which include, football, world beers and classic cars. I’m a Trustee of Baby Stuff Braintree, a local Baby Bank. If I have spare time my gardening skills are limited to pruning/hacking.
I am retired and have lived at Bakers Lane for 43 years. I have 2 sons, Dr Chris Smith Covid TV Presenter Naked Scientist, and Richard a teacher and beekeeper, plus four grandchildren and a Labrador, which adds up to many years of childcare, country walks and wildlife watching on our extensive footpath system, a huge asset for Black Notley. I am also a member of the choir at St Peters in the Fields Bocking End.
I have been on the Parish Council and Planning Committee for 22 years so have gained a great deal of experience in this area which involves Local Plans and also Consultations into wider issues which affect the village. I am an ardent supporter of the open spaces within the Parish and a member of the Green Open Space Committee.
I have lived in Cressing for 27 years and been the Parish Clerk for Black Notley for 23 years. I have 2 Labradors which allows me to enjoy walking around the area. I enjoy pilates and singing with Rock Choir.

My wife Julie and I moved back to Black Notley last year, having last lived here in the late 70s early 80s. I am retired, with a work background which started in banking, then self-employed retail and finally teaching. We both like the facilities, the location and the village feel of Black Notley and are very pleased to be here again.
The Parish Council plays a big part in the life of a village and I would like to make my contribution to that. It would be good to keep all residents updated and involved in all that the Parish Council does – and to explore new ideas and initiatives that would continue to improve the village for the future. A strong community is a resilient community.

I have lived in the village for two years with my wife and two children.
I have a keen interest in keeping the village as a rural as possible but with modern facilities for the villagers.
When I am not working on delivering technology projects for a London-based company, I enjoy frequent long walks among many local routes.
My main areas of interest on the parish council are updating our social media presence and ensuring our web content is relevant and informative.

I have lived in the village for thirty years+ and have two grown children and one new grandchild. My interests include improving wildlife habitat and bulb planting within the village and maintaining the flag pole and signage.
I have lived in the village for 35 years, and my passions include nature, history and sport. My aims as part of the Parish Council is to enhance the natural environment of the village, ensure that the history of the parish is not forgotten and provide sporting activities for young and old alike.
